Meeting regarding IP ranges distribution |
|
On 24th of march 2007, BGWireless will be holding a meeting regarding the creation of an address plan and distribution of IP ranges.
All community network from our and nearby countries are invited, with the limit of up to 2 representatives of each network, preferably with the knowledge of IP and routing. Meeting will take place in Belgrade (or someplace close), whereas all participants will be notified of the exact time and location via e-mail or by phone, at least one week before the meeting. All interested in participating in our meeting, please write to spider AT bgwireless DOT net and include the following information: your name, contact phone, your network and names of the people who will be coming.
We also have a favor to ask – please think about possible adress plan and make some notes if possible, so we can discuss all ideas that come up.
Why is all of this necessary? We have an opportunity to connect ourselves to other similar networks, either via wireless or via internet, and this would greatly improve our routing system, as well as make possible for all of the “young”, upcoming networks to connect with neighbouring networks.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. |

“Skopje Wireless” in visit to Belgrade |
Belgrade, 4 th and 5 th of November, 2006. Like there was no enough of international collaboration – just as the "crem de la Mond" expedition of BGWireless in Croatia (visit to their network) was finished – we had a visit from two administrators of “Skopje Wireless” from Macedonia. Our guests were Žarko Sokolov and Filip Zafirovski aka Neo, both macedonian network administrators from Skopje. They’ve been our guests for two days and some of our administrators (NYC, LePiaf, Pota, Žare) showed them some of important locations of our network. We hope that we were helpful to them and that their interest in our network will make Skopje’s network bigger and better. Unavoidable part of the tour was our access point in Titel, where Marko aka Titus (Titel’s administrator) showed to our guests equipment that is necessary for maintaining important links such as Belgrade-Titel-Novi Sad. Equipment in Titel is located at the top of the agricultural silo. At the end, we all agreed to meet in Skopje next time. BGWireless will have the pleasure to be a guest of Skopje Wireless in near future. All pictures about this event can be seen in gallery .

On 29 th of october BGwireless administrators made a trip to Croatia, visiting place called Djakovo for a meeting with the representatives of HRFreeNet. The members of DJWireless (Wireless Network of Djakovo) were hosts of this event. The main topic of the meeting was a possibility of connecting bigger wireless communities from Serbia with similar communities in Croatia. This was the first meeting beetwen BGWireless and HRFreeNet administrators, taking place after the international cooperation 'treaty' had been officially signed. DJWireless is a wireless network covering the city of Djakovo, likely to expand in the future with the goal of covering entire Djakovstina. During our stay in Djakovo we went on the tour of the city (organized by our hosts) visiting the cathedral, Župni dvor (District court), Pastuharna, Državna ergela lipicanera (State lipitzaner horse farm) and, off course, DJWireless' nods. To see photograps from this interesting meeting, please visit the gallery. We would also use this opportunity to say thanks to our hosts for all their hospitality... looking forward to next meeting!
